In our ongoing quest to fatten up our Clementine, we introduced a tasty breastmilk-and-avocado guacamole today. The verdict? Messy.

rough week

Sorry about the lag in posting; the whole family is having a difficult time of it this week. Clementine had her six month visit with the pediatrician- she's still awfully little, so we are tormenting her by allowing no other activities besides eating. It looks as though she is SLIGHTLY on the anemic side, so I am hopeful that things will improve soon. She got her six month shots and that blood test today and then tonight, this:



The mobile was spinning for so long in one direction that the line broke. And she SLEPT THROUGH IT. Seriously, you guys: BEST. BABY. EVER.

1)SHE SAID "MAMA." Repeatedly! I'm not quite deluded enough to think that she meant it. Just enough that it totally made me cry.

I was hesitant to tell my parents that Clementine had started sleeping for 12(!) hours at night, because I was SURE that if I said anything, she would stop. I totally should have kept my mouth shut.




Oh well... She is really cute at night. And she did eventually go back to sleep. IN HER CRIB!

So, after her nap today, Clementine was practicing sitting on my stomach. She pitched forward and smacked her forehead into my forehead. It hurt! I pulled her up, expecting to see tears, and... she laughed AT me, all "Mom, you are such a wuss. Hee hee!"

Jacy was walking around with Clementine in the sling when we went grocery shopping today. (I made my first batch of organic sweet potato baby food!) When we got home he put her down on the bed and she managed to get herself in this position (still sleeping) shortly after:



And we seem to have one renegade mosquito in our apartment. She has a bite on her arm, her leg and her foot.
